 Welcome to the Gentle Business Sessions. A podcast hosted by me, Ashley Beaudin. And powered by Marvelous and WillowSpace. It's so good to have you here. In today's episode, I am leading you through a guided meditation.

This is a guided meditation that I taught in one of my private group programs and it had such a resonance that I really wanted to share it on the podcast here. It is a guided visualization around interacting with our future self. But really orienting into the idea that our future welcomes us with warmth. And that our future self welcomes us with kindness. That the future. I might not always need to be this ominous thing. But that we can see warmth and goodness in our future.

And that that can bring us a beautiful sense of safety. And so, I'll invite you to do what you need to feel settled in. To the space as we begin this meditation. May it bring you the deepest or support.​

To bring us in, I'll invite us to settle in, feel the place where we're sitting, maybe take a couple deep breaths, maybe rub your hands together, anything that can kind of bring you a little moment of grounding.

I want to invite you to imagine yourself in a nature spot that feels good to you. Whether that be a forest or a beach or mountains or anything else that you might think of. Take in any sensory information around that place. What do you see, hear, taste, smell? Allow it to be like an embrace.

And I want to invite you to look ahead as far as you can see. Pick a point that's like the furthest you can see ahead. And I want you to imagine that that is your future. Maybe it's a sunset far in the distance, or maybe it's a mountain far off or a tree far off. In this meditation, just allow it to be a point of reference that that is your future.

And first I want to invite you to notice what it, what it's like to look towards your future. What's it like to see your future ahead of you? Does it bring you peace? Does it bring you anxiety? Excitement, curiosity? How does it feel to look towards your future?

Using the symbolism of nature, whatever it is that you've picked, I want you to imagine nature, your future, looking back at you. And notice it's welcome. Whether it be in the sky, or a mountain, or trees, or water. Can you get a sense of it's welcome? It's readiness to meet you. It's curiosity to know you. Allowing it to sort of pull you forward. And you get a sense of, my future welcomes me with open arms.

I want to invite you to imagine that there is a future self standing in that reference point. The sky, the trees, the mountains beckoning you forward. Notice what they look like. What kind of energy do they emanate?

If your future self was to call to you, almost like a voice in the night, or something of that feeling. When your future self calls to you, what do they say? What do they offer you? Is there anything that you want your future self to know about how you're doing? Is there anything your future self sees for you that you cannot see currently, that you cannot see right now? Maybe allow them to share that with you.

Maybe imagine that, that future self. Almost teleports to where you are now, in your present, and comes and stands with you, or sits with you. Notice how they greet you, how they wish to interact with you, what is the first thing that they say to you, what do they want to do with you. Specifically paying attention to their warmth, or their peace, their joy. Their power, curiosity, wonder.

A question you might ask your future self is, what's something I'm worried about right now that I don't need to be worried about? Or maybe you ask something like, what actually matters here? Or even asking your future self, what are your priorities? What am I being invited to learn or to embody? What do you want to tell me? What's important for me to know? Let's take a moment of conversation, maybe, with this future self.

As you orient towards your future, notice how you feel. Notice if there's any relief in your body. And maybe just take a couple minutes to see if there's anything else that feels important for you, or if there's anything that you want to write down.

May you rest in the welcome. Of your future self today.
